Nancy Guthrie’s neighborhood is on edge when a masked thief wanders through homes and steals from porches
Residents of Arizona’s Nancy Guthrie neighborhood were shocked by another shocking crime last week when a masked thief was spotted stealing from a porch.
Ring Doorbell camera footage obtained by KVOA showed a gray Ford F-150 pulling up to a home in the Catalina Foothills on April 29 just before 11 p.m.
Moments later, a man wearing gloves, a face mask and a baseball cap could be seen exiting the vehicle, walking to the front of the house and loading several potted cacti into the bed of the truck.
The homeowner later posted the shocking video to the Ring app, and it quickly began circulating around the neighborhood — where police presence has increased since 84-year-old Nancy disappeared from her home on Feb. 1.
“It’s someone walking on your property late at night uninvited,” Jeff Lamie said of the recent images.
“It may be a small crime, but committing a crime… it’s disturbing.”
The brazen theft comes as local and federal authorities continue to search for signs of Nancy, the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie.
There is no indication that the two cases are related.
But disturbing CCTV footage from the Nest doorbell of Nancy’s $1 million home showed an armed, masked figure wearing black latex gloves tampering with the doorbell camera on the night of her disappearance.

The Catalina Foothills have been tense since Nancy Guthrie, 84, the mother of Today Show host Savannah Guthrie, disappeared on February 1.
Nancy was last seen she entered her $1 million home on the evening of January 31 after dinner with her daughter Annie and son-in-law Tommaso Cioni.
The next morning she was reported missing after failing to attend a virtual church service with friends.
Over the course of the investigation, which stretched into a third straight month without answers on Friday, the Guthrie family has received ransom letters demanding Bitcoin in exchange for information on Nancy’s whereabouts.
Many came via news outlet TMZ, which claimed it received a new one when Savannah returned to the Today Show last month.
The tip said their offer to “deliver them on a silver platter” for one bitcoin still stands, TMZ reported.
Not long after the outlet covered the new ransom note live, they received a second letter claiming they had seen Nancy alive.
“I saw her alive with them in the state of Sonora, Mexico,” the newspaper said.
However, in the first note, the sender reportedly said, “she’s dead.”

The outlet forwarded the letter to the FBI, which is skeptical about whether it is legitimate as the bitcoin address has not received a deposit since it was created in February.
“It is unbelievable that millions have been wasted and yet I have been willing to hand them over on a silver platter for a bitcoin since February 11, only to be ignored as a scammer,” the note said.
‘They are free and the case is frozen, but the egos remain hot when it comes to me. Arrogance at its best.’
The sender offered information for half a bitcoin, the other half would be sent as public interest grows.
They also tried to clear themselves of any suspicion by stating that they had been out of the US for five years and had nothing to do with the “heinous crime,” TMZ reported.
“I just want to live fairly and peacefully with enough to quietly rebuild my life without having to join a witness protection program,” the letter said.
The disturbing letter came as Savannah was welcomed back to the skies after spending two months in Arizona during the search.

As she walked to Rockefeller Plaza with the morning show hosts around 8:30 a.m. ET on Monday, she was greeted by a team of supporters.
Wearing yellow ribbons as a sign of hope and signs of support, Savannah cried as she met attendees.
The journalist said: ‘These signs are so beautiful, you have been so beautiful. I have received so many letters, so much kindness to me and my whole family.
“We feel it, we feel your prayers,” she said, wiping away tears with co-host Al Roker’s handkerchief as she linked arms with Jenna Bush Hager.
At one point, she told a supporter, who was wearing a T-shirt that read “Welcome Home Savannah,” “I love you.”
