Meghan Markle jokes about vow renewal as Prince Harry wears swimming trunks eight years after their royal wedding

Meghan Markle recently joked in a new interview about renewing her vows with Prince Harry in a much more informal way than the Sussexes’ 2018 royal wedding.

Speaking to YouTubers Sean Skeels and Marley Whatarau, who gifted Meghan a pair of men’s swimming trunks, the Duchess of Sussex joked “that will be for my husband.”

Meghan thanked the internet chiefs for the ‘Aussie bum’ parakeet smugglers and continued: ‘Maybe we’ll renew our vows if he wears these.’

Harry and Meghan, who left the royal family and moved to the US in 2020, exchanged vows eight years ago in a televised ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor.

The mother-of-two met ‘Australian royalty’ Sean and Marley, whose YouTube cooking show has more than a million subscribers, during the Sussexes’ four-day quasi-royal tour of Australia last month.

In a new video on their channel, the friends revealed that the Duchess contacted them last year after recreating the one-pan spaghetti recipe from her Netflix show With Love, Meghan.

She sent the pair a handwritten note and a care package with jam and other products from her lifestyle brand As Ever, before the group finally met during Meghan and Harry’s visit to Sydney in April.

Fans declared that they ‘love this trio’ after Sean and Marley posted a clip from their new YouTube video to Instagram. “Good to see Meghan meeting the Australian Royal Family,” read one comment.

Sean and Marley, who both have Down syndrome, also gave Meghan teddies from the hit Australian cartoon Bluey, as she revealed her children, Archie and Lilibet, ‘love’ the show.

Meghan then attempted an Australian accent as she recited one of the show’s most famous lines of dialogue, saying, “I’m going to take a nap, honey!”

I know how the Queen REALLY felt about Meghan

Sean and Marley’s other gifts included a can of Tooheys beer, which Meghan happily sipped as she commented: ‘Shall I try? It’s not cold, but probably still good.’

She also brought up Prince Harry, 41, when Marley suggested drinking a few cans of lager while watching TV, as Meghan said: “You’ve created a whole date night for us!”

Longtime friends Sean and Marley later posted a photo of them posing with Meghan on Instagram and captioned it: “We got her eight special gifts that represent Australian life and she loved them all!”

The carefully curated collection included National Rugby League jerseys for Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, as well as chicken salt and mint flavored sweets.

Meghan told them that Minties are her mother Doria Ragland’s “favorite.”

It appears the video was recorded on the same day Meghan addressed the £1,400-per-person Her Best Life retreat, as she was wearing the same outfit.

Meghan opted for a cashmere tank top from Australian brand Scanlan & Theodore, which she paired with beige trousers and nude heels for both of her performances in Sydney.

It comes after Meghan explained the reasoning behind her controversial decision to partner with a global fashion marketplace, where she is paid a percentage of sales, suggesting it is all about crediting the ‘right designer’.

In a new interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly following her quasi-royal tour Down Under, Meghan talked about how “fashion is one of the most powerful industries.”

She added, “Even if you don’t say a word, you can convey something with what you wear. Over the last few years I’ve heard about the wrong designer taking credit for something I wore, through affiliate links or in the press, and it never seemed fair.

‘Credit where credit is due. These brands and designers work so hard and take pride in their work, and I choose them for a reason.

‘Whether it’s supporting a friend, being loyal to the brand… So it’s always been important to me that the right designer is named.’

Following Meghan’s comments, the publication explained how the Duchess has partnered with the OneOff website – described as the ‘Spotify of fashion’ – where Prince Harry’s wife will receive a percentage of sales.

All of Meghan’s ensembles from her four-day tour were uploaded to the site, of which she became a participant and investor, including the outfit she wore when she met survivors of the Bondi terror attack.

The Duchess was criticized after her $2,000 ‘look’ when she met survivors of the massacre was first posted on the website.

The Daily Mail revealed how shortly after hugging witnesses to the tragedy, the clothes she wore on the Sydney beach where 15 people died were immediately posted on the fashion platform.

But the original controversial OneOff page inviting fans of Meghan’s fashion to buy her expensive Bondi ensemble was subsequently quietly removed.

It was replaced by a photo of the Duchess waving as she left her luxury Range Rover 4×4 earlier in the day, wearing the same outfit but not on the beach and without Harry in the picture.
