Trump WHCD shooter hit with a FOURTH charge as he faces life in prison
The alleged shooter at Donald Trump’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner has been indicted by a grand jury on four counts, including one new charge.
Cole Tomas Allen, 31, was armed with a shotgun, handgun and knives when he burst through a security checkpoint on April 25 and ran to the ballroom of the Washington Hilton.
He was initially charged in a criminal complaint with attempted murder of the president, transporting a firearm with intent to commit a felony and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.
Allen’s indictment Tuesday by a federal grand jury in Washington, D.C., includes the same three charges but adds a charge of assaulting a federal officer with a deadly weapon.
The addition of the new indictment confirms that Allen allegedly shot a Secret Service agent, who was hit in the bulletproof vest and was not seriously injured.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche indicated last week that investigators wanted to review more ballistic evidence before reaching that conclusion.
Trump and many of his top Cabinet secretaries gathered for the annual dinner along with thousands of journalists.
Allen traveled by train from his home in California to carry out the attack and allegedly left a note saying that government officials were his targets and were being “prioritized from the highest to the lowest.”

Allen, of Torrance, California, has not yet entered a plea.
He was injured but not shot when subdued by police.
Allen was placed on suicide watch after his arrest, but prison officials removed him from that status this weekend.
His lawyers complained that he had been unnecessarily confined to a padded room with constant lighting, repeatedly searched and handcuffed outside his cell.
A liberal federal judge sparked outrage Monday after apologizing to Allen for conditions in the 24-hour lockup and politicizing his rhetoric by contrasting it with the more lenient detention of those arrested after the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.
Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui convicted prison guards, saying: ‘I should at least apologize to him. We have an obligation to ensure that he is taken care of. Mr. Allen, I’m sorry that things didn’t go the way they should.”
“To me it is extremely disturbing that he has been given a five-point ban, a person with no criminal history,” Faruqui added.
‘It’s disturbing. I have never heard of a January 6th defendant being placed in a five-point harness or in a secure cell. “If the only way to keep him safe is the most punitive, that’s a problem,” the judge said.

Judge Zia Faruqui criticized lawyers during a hearing Monday afternoon over the circumstances of Allen’s captivity. Allen was placed on suicide watch when he was first in jail
The judge ordered D.C. jail officials to notify him of Allen’s requested jail accommodations tomorrow morning. Allen’s attorneys filed a motion Sunday demanding he be released from restrictions on monitoring suicides at the jail.
While admonishing prison officials, Judge Faruqui emphasized that Allen is considered innocent until proven guilty.
Still, Allen posted a manifesto admitting to plotting the shooting, and video footage showed the would-be killer speeding past the Secret Service while wielding a shotgun before officers opened fire.
Trump’s allies and online supporters responded with outrage to the judge’s apology to Allen by demanding his removal. Allen has not entered a plea in the case.
“Remove this judge NOW!” wrote MAGA influencer Eric Daugherty about X.
Nick Sortor, a popular online Trump supporter, also lambasted Faruqui: “WTF? DC Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui apologized to WHCA shooter Cole Allen for the “treatment” he has received in prison so far. DC judges are an absolute JOKE.”
Last week, Allen appeared in court with his public defenders, wearing an orange jumpsuit and white undershirt. During the hearing he remained calm and emotionless.
Federal prosecutors have released a chilling selfie of Allen, pictured in his hotel room, apparently armed with weapons, moments before he stormed a security checkpoint in an alleged plot to assassinate Donald Trump.

Prosecutors say he took a mirror selfie in his hotel room wearing evening clothes at 8:03 p.m., just minutes before arriving at the event with a shotgun.
“He was wearing a black shirt, black pants and what appears to be a red tie tucked into his pants,” the report said.
He also carried a “small leather bag” filled with ammunition, a shoulder holster, a knife with sheath, pliers and a pair of wire cutters.
Prosecutors say that after taking the selfie, Allen searched the president’s calendar again at 8:13 p.m. and then watched the live video of Trump arriving at 8:27 p.m., immediately before his emailed confession was sent to family and friends at 8:30 p.m.
