Revealed: What REALLY led to a queue between two families waiting for another Paw Patrol ride in Chessington
A dad accused of racism after stopping a family of ‘queue jumpers’ at Chessington World of Adventures has claimed their excuse for turning back after a toilet visit was a lie.
Luke Tickner waited patiently with his son to ride Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure at the theme park’s newly opened ‘World of Paw Patrol’ on Sunday.
But he stopped another father and his children from queuing in front of him when they claimed they were queuing again after going to the toilet.
This caused a huge row at the south-west London venue as Mr Tickner protested, refusing to let them through and accusing them of ‘playing the race card’.
Another clip showed a woman arguing with the ride attendant at the front, claiming her family members had simply left to use the restroom and were trying to get back in.
Now Mr Tickner, from Whiteley in Hampshire, has spoken out, claiming the family accused of queue jumping had ‘never queued – only the mother’.
He told the Daily Mail: ‘They didn’t even go to the toilet. The mother was standing in line while they had been on other rides and they decided they wanted to continue riding.
“He even admitted they did this the day before. We contacted the staff and security came to us but at that point they left because they knew they had done wrong.

At the same time, a woman is seen arguing with the ride attendant at the front of the line, claiming that her family had simply left the line to use the restroom and was trying to get back in.
‘The staff were happy to look at the footage to see if they had queued, but because they hadn’t queued, the lady walked away. The mother even pushed my son when he went to show her the “rules”.
‘I was never rude, but to the point, because I was called racist and my son was pushed by an adult. Not once did this have anything to do with queue jumping. The rules in the park are very clear about queue jumping.’
The row was filmed by brothers Ben and Jacob from Eastbourne, who review theme park rides and post on their ‘Ride Comparisons’ channel.
In the Facebook comments on the video, the man who blocked the alleged queue jumper identified himself as Mr Tickner and posted a photo with a drink in a bar and said: ‘Well deserved after today. Maybe I’ll rent myself out to Merlin.’
The clip, shot during Zuma’s Hovercraft Adventure – Britain’s first ‘drifter’ ride – starts with one of the brothers saying to the camera: ‘Oh my God guys, there are loads of queue jumpers here. I think we’re experiencing a bit of this in Zuma’s Hovercraft ride.”
The woman in the front then says to the ride leader: ‘So they came back. Now the person standing there won’t let our children in to come to us. Could you please take a look, because it’s not…’
One of the brothers tells the attendant, “They’re trying to jump the line. And they were stopped by someone.”
And the supervisor says: ‘Because if you do leave, you have to let one of us know.’
The woman replies, “Okay, we didn’t know that.”
The attendant then tells her, “I can have security check. We can have security checked. And they will check if he is left here and come back. If so, we’ll do it now.’
But the woman says, ‘No, they went to the toilet and came back.’
The footage then switches to the two men arguing in the queue, with Mr Tickner, blocking the alleged queue jumper, telling him: ‘You’re calling me a racist, you’re wrong, you’re absolutely wrong.’
One of the brothers says, “Oh, he pulled the race card.” Oh no! Oh dear! Haha. Queue battles for Zuma’s Hovercraft were not on my 2026 bingo card!’
The alleged queue jumper tells Mr. Tickner, “You’re wrong.”
But the man answers him: ‘You are wrong too. Tonight you can be seen on YouTube.’

The alleged queue jumper then says, “I don’t care.” Everyone then laughs.
Mr Tickner continues: ‘I have done nothing wrong. You’re the one pulling the race card now. We won’t let you pass to stand in line. Everyone here is lining up.”
And the alleged queue jumper says, “You have a problem.”
One of the brothers concludes: ‘It’s fair to this man, he stopped the queue jumper. What a legend. Good for you there.’
Everyone else applauds and takes out their cameras, as one of the brothers adds, “Good job on him there.” Here we go guys, don’t stand in line, don’t do that!’
On Chessington’s website, queue jumping is ‘defined as attempting to gain access to a ride, attraction or any other element that requires a queue or queuing system, by an unauthorized means’.
These means are described by the theme park as “moving ahead of other guests already in line, leaving the line and then trying to re-enter at the same place, or holding a seat open for someone not in line.”
The World of Paw Patrol is a new immersive experience for children spread across 1.4 hectares, including four new attractions, three themed play areas and themed catering inspired by the show’s ‘Adventure Bay’, which follows a boy and his team of rescue dogs.

Chessington hosted an exclusive preview day on Saturday, attended by VIP guests including Celebrity Traitors stars Joe Marler and Nick Mohammed, as well as BBC presenter Alex Jones, Made In Chelsea’s Hugo Taylor and Olympian Greg Rutherford.
The theme park is owned by Merlin Entertainments, which also operates attractions such as Legoland, Thorpe Park, the London Eye, Sea Life and Alton Towers.
