With The Batman, like many films, being hit by the pandemic in filming, and director Matt Reeves’ “specific” and “collaborative” approach to filmmaking, Zoe described filming as an “incredible experience” in which they own ‘bubble’.
However, things did take its toll on her body as she described how to stay in shape to get into her skintight suit every day.
She explained: “It’s very physically demanding… I had to be in a very specific shape and there’s a pandemic going on. I get zipped into a catsuit every day at 7am, work 12 hour days and then come home and work out. It was intense.’

She said, “I tried not to think about it as Catwoman either, but as a woman, how does this make me feel? How do we go about this and how do we make sure we don’t create fetishes or stereotypes? I knew it had to be a real person.’
And while Selina Kyle’s story has been followed by hardcore comic book fans for decades, Zoe noted the importance of not “thinking about them” when filming the role, insisting that she just wanted to “honor” the story. .
Elsewhere, Zoe opened up about her “personal” new solo album, detailing her failed marriage to actor Karl Glusman, who she divorced after just 18 months of marriage.
She said, ‘It’s about love and loss. I am married. I’m divorced. Divorces, breakups are sad, but also beautiful things. It’s about the bittersweetness, that beginning and that end. It’s so complex, that space, where you’re between heartbroken and grieving the loss of something and excited about what’s ahead.’
