Grime artist Wiley put on an animated display when he arrived in court today charged with assaulting a kickboxer and breaking into his flat.
The 42-year-old rapper, whose real name is Richard Cowie Jr, dressed casually in a black Nike jersey and white shorts as he made his way to Thames Magistrates’ Court in London this morning.
Cowie Jr, dubbed the ‘Godfather of Grime’, is charged with breaking and entering the home of friend and kickboxer Ali Jacko in Forest Gate, east London, on August 28.
He will be charged with assault by assault and burglary of a home with intent to cause damage.

Jacko, a former kickboxing world champion, was relaxing at his house with friends when Cowie Jr broke in and kicked him, according to reports.
Jacko’s friend called the police after the situation escalated and an argument broke out and Cowie Jr was later arrested.
The Metropolitan Police has charged Wile after the August 28 incident.
In a statement, they previously said: “Around 2200 on Saturday, August 28, police were called to a flat in Forest Gate.
“Agents were on the scene. It was alleged that a man entered the flat, assaulted the resident and caused property damage.
The man has been arrested and taken into custody.

The resident, an adult male, suffered minor injuries. Ambulance service in London was not necessary.’
Wiley, whose hits include Wearing My Rolex and Heatwave, is considered one of the most influential figures behind grime music and was honored with an MBE in 2018.
His album Godfather, released in 2017, reached number 1 on the UK R&B chart.
