Perspective | Hints From Heloise: Rising prices cause reader to buy less
Dear Heloise: As we isolate ourselves from the coronavirus, many of us buy things online and have them delivered to our home. Of course there are delivery charges and a tip for the driver, which I don’t mind paying. I think that’s only fair. However, I have noticed that prices have risen sharply over the past 12 months. I don’t mean just a few cents here and there, but rather a dollar or more. This is very evident at my local supermarket. Last year my weekly grocery bill was $90. This year it’s closer to $130 a week.
