Masked robbers stole thousands of pounds worth of jewelry and cash in a raid on the Paris hotel where Lionel Messi lives.

The robbers broke into Le Royal Monceau by scaling down from the roof on the outside of the building.

They entered through an unlocked balcony door on the floor above the Paris Saint-Germain superstar’s £17,000 a night hotel suite.

Four rooms were raided in the robbery just weeks after the footballer waved to his adoring fans from the balcony of his luxurious new home. The sun.

Camera images show how two masked men clambered to the balcony on the sixth floor last Wednesday evening.

That evening PSG played an away game at Metz in northeastern France, but Messi stayed at home after an injury in the previous game.

One victim, a financial adviser in Dubai, said she left her £1,000 a night room for the evening and found her £3,000 gold necklace, £500 earrings and £2,000 in cash missing the next morning.

She said, “Paying a fortune for a chic and safe place and having someone walk into your room is very upsetting.

“The police told us they saw two men with a bag on the roof on surveillance cameras, but they couldn’t identify them.

“They said three other robberies had also been reported. A Moroccan man in the next room told me his watch had been stolen.’

She claimed that the hotel did not believe her allegations until the police were involved.

The hotel, whose former guests were Madonna and Michael Jackson, stepped up security after Messi arrived in August.

The 34-year-old icon moved with his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and their three children from Barcelona.

Since then, PSG fans have gathered outside the hotel every day hoping to catch a glimpse of their star signing.

After scoring a sensational winner against Manchester City on Wednesday, guardrails were put in place to prevent the frenzied fans from reaching the hotel.

Messi has reportedly signed a lease for a new family home and plans to move.

The hotel says the theft is “under investigation.”
