A Tampa Bay man who has fathered children with his current wife, his lesbian ex-wife and her new wife talks about their unique blended family – while one of the women backfires on suggestions that they are all “sister wives.”

Josh Rappahahn, 37, was married for five years to Jennifer Vazquez, 36, and together they had an 11-year-old son.

After they divorced, Josh married Danielle, 31, with whom he has a five-year-old daughter.

Jennifer has also remarried – to Chantel, 30, who gave birth to Josh’s biological son earlier this year after agreeing to become a sperm donor.

The foursome – who are not a polyamorous couple, but two couples who are co-parents together – shared their story on an episode of the TLC show “You, Me, and My Ex” in April.

In a clip from the show, Josh sat on a couch with the three women and explained their relationship.

“This is my first baby mama,” he said. “This is my second baby mama. And hopefully that’s my third baby mama.’

“We’re definitely not sister women, but my ex-husband’s sperm is inside my wife,” Jennifer added.

Josh and Jennifer were first married and now welcomed 11-year-old Jace together before divorcing after five years – but they remained on good terms.

“If you’re divorcing someone, you don’t have to hate each other,” Josh told the Tampa Bay Times. “Especially when children are involved.”

In fact, Jennifer says they’re still “best friends” and texting constantly.

After the split, Josh soon met Danielle and the couple had their own child together, a five-year-old daughter named Mikaela.

Danielle and Jennifer got to know each other and they also became good friends.

“I just feel like we’re kind of sisters,” Danielle said.

Meanwhile, Jennifer also moved on – with Chantel, whom she married in 2017.

And when Jennifer and Chantel wanted to have a baby, they turned to Josh for help – and last year Chantel got pregnant with Josh’s sperm.

There’s nothing more rewarding than being able to help your family achieve one of their goals in life, Josh and Danielle shared People.

“We are eternally grateful to Josh and Danielle for making the decision to make our dream of growing our family a reality,” Jennifer and Chantel added.

“A driving factor was getting our message out to the world about co-parenting and raising your kids in a healthy environment,” says Danielle.

Despite the apparent love and warmth in the group, there were initially some concerns about what this would mean for the dynamics.

“I still feel like when the baby is born, you know, your instinctual emotions can kick in and you can feel attached or emotional about the baby,” Danielle told him on the TLC Baby Birth show.

‘I don’t think there will be emotional’ [attachment]. Like, I’m saying this now, I don’t know. I’ve never done this before,’ he replied.

In April, Chantel gave birth to baby Camila.

On TLC, they emphasized that despite his DNA, Josh is not Camila’s father, although he will have a “consistent influence” in her life.

“This is a new relationship for all of us, so it can get a little tacky depending on the dynamics of the relationship with the baby,” Danielle admitted.

As for what Camila will know about her heritage, the foursome said they’ve always wanted to be honest – so it won’t be “weird” to anyone.

‘We will give them the truth’ [and] saying, “We used this person’s DNA to create you in a different way than other parents do,” Chantel said.

While some sperm donors have limited relationships with the children they have fathered, things are obviously different for this family, with Josh and his ex-wife Jennifer still co-parenting their son.

Fortunately, all the women get on well and spend three to four days a week together.

In addition to having family dinners as a group, the adults went out without the kids, shopped together, and swapped school pick-ups.
