Manchester United ‘are poised to rival Barcelona, Juventus AND Bayern Munich for £60m-rated RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Dani Olmo in a move next summer’…with German club ‘willing to sell as one of the greats’ trying to sign him
- Dani Olmo is extremely versatile and last season enjoyed the best season of his life
- The 23-year-old was the subject of a bid from Barcelona to return him to Spain
- However, RB Leipzig turned down the offer as there was no time to find a replacement
- Manchester United only have Bruno Fernandes as 10 despite their wealth
Manchester United are reportedly ready to compete with Barcelona, Juventus and Bayern Munich for the signing of Dani Olmo.
The RB Leipzig attacking midfielder, valued at £60million, was closely linked with Barca this summer and was reportedly the subject of a £50million offer by the Catalan giants on the day of the transfer deadline, which Leipzig turned down.
Now, according to MARCA, it looks like United and Bundesliga champions Bayern have joined the race for the Spain international, who could leave as early as January, while Leipzig is open to letting one of their trophies leave if there is a large offer comes in.

Barcelona made a belated offer for their former youth player this summer, but it was rejected
United are ashamed of attacking riches – but only one number 10 in Bruno Fernandes
The former Dinamo Zagreb man, who was at Barca’s famous La Masia academy between 2007 and 2014, is said to be delighted at the prospect of returning to the club before Leipzig pulled the plug on a deal as they were unable to find a replacement so late in the window.
Olmo’s versatility makes him a really nice option to have as he is not only an attacking midfielder, but can also play wide, in a two-man vanguard or as an attacking player in a four- or five-man midfield. .
Manchester United have an embarrassment of wealth when you consider their attacking options as a whole, but apart from Bruno Fernandes they have no one who is able to step up and operate in that number 10 role.
Although Olmo has strong ties to Barca, the 23-year-old has been led by current Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann for the past two seasons.
Julian Nagelsmann is Olmo’s old boss and came back on Saturday to chase RB Leipzig
Marcel Sabitzer and Dayot Upamecano left Leipzig to join Nagelsmann at Bayern Munich
Nagelsmann returned to his former stomping ground on Saturday, taking a 4-1 win as Olmo faced off against former team-mates Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer, who both crossed the rift with their 34-year-old boss this summer.
Barca’s significant financial troubles could make a transfer unfeasible for Olmo, especially if Leipzig raises the asking price, while Juve would appreciate a new attacking option in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United.
After finishing last season with five Bundesliga goals and 10 assists last season – as well as three assists in the Euro 2020 knockout stage – Olmo was in the shape of his life. The race for his signature will be intriguing.
