Kamala Harris’ stepdaughter, Ella Emhoff, made her Monday night Met Gala debut a blast as she put on an incredibly glamorous show in a translucent red ensemble — complete with a stunning makeover that made her look almost unrecognizable.
The 22-year-old, who is signed to Gigi Hadid’s modeling agency IMG, proved she was more than capable of holding her own alongside some of the biggest stars in the industry as she stepped out at the star-studded event — that she attended without her friend Samuel Hine.
Known for her preference for more funky fashion looks, Ella eschewed a more traditional dress, opting instead for a form-fitting red shirt with a see-through pattern across her stomach and arms, and a shimmering panel across her stomach and breasts. .
She paired the slim-fitting shirt with baggy, shiny red trousers that were tied at the waist and tight at the ankles, and topped off her ensemble with a pair of comfy-looking red sneakers.

The model and knitwear designer – who is the daughter of Harris’ husband Doug Emhoff and his first wife Kerstin – usually opts for a barely natural makeup look, but she underwent an incredibly glamorous makeover for the Met Gala.
She chose to go without her signature wire-rimmed glasses, styling her curly hair into a sleek straight hairstyle that lifted slightly above her shoulders.
Her locks were pulled behind her ears so Ella could show off her sparkly makeup look – with glittering gems around her eyes, a bold forehead and a little mascara.
She also had highlighter on her cheekbones to emphasize her angular features and wore some pale pink lip gloss to complete the look.
Upon entering the event, she added a matching red facemask to her outfit in accordance with the strict COVID regulations in place prior to the Met Gala – requiring all guests to show proof of full vaccination status and be tested for their arrival.
Visitors must also wear masks indoors when not eating and drinking.
Ella clearly felt at home at the star-studded event, where she gleefully posed and waved for the cameras as she climbed the Met’s iconic steps.

Ella’s appearance at the Met Gala comes at the end of a busy New York Fashion Week for the rising star, who attended several events with her magazine editor Beau Samuel, including Sunday’s Thom Browne show.
There, the model stepped out in a more typical look, with a striped blazer to match a long skirt, and a sharp suit and tie – matching her boyfriend, who wore a gray jacket and kilt with his own shirt and tie.
The pair held hands as they left the runway show, while Ella carried a funky stuffed animal-esque handbag across her body as they left the event.
Ella has been in a relationship with the designer for a long time, having worn his design on a COVID memorial shortly before President Joe Biden’s inauguration in January, where she quickly confirmed her status as a style star thanks to her quirky looks.
The model attended the inauguration as the stepdaughter of Vice President Kamala Harris, whom she calls “Momala,” and signed with major modeling agency IMG a few weeks later, after generating a huge social media buzz with her appearance.
Three weeks later, she made her runway debut at New York Fashion Week, walking for designer Proenza Schouler – a brand she also modeled for on Wednesday,

Emhoff is a graduate of the Parsons School of Design in New York City, where she lives.
He told the outlet that he grew up in Chicago in a “prototypical sheltered suburban childhood” before moving to New York.
“I was in college during what I think was the height of the #menswear era, and I read all the blogs and basically thought, I could do that.
“So I convinced a super-flying English professor—shoutout Gage McWeeny—to let me do an independent study on fashion and I wrote some silly essays on, like, Oscar Wilde and fit photos. It was kind of insane that my conclusion from that was, “I should get paid to do this sort of thing,” but here we are.’
