HEALTH INFORMATION: Is ADHD Linked to Dementia? Children with behavioral problems are more likely to have grandparents with cognitive decline, study shows

According to a study, children with behavioral problems are more likely to have grandparents with dementia.

Older relatives of children with ADHD, including parents and grandparents, were 34 percent more likely to develop dementia, scientists say.

Researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm analyzed data from three million people born in Sweden between 1980 and 2001, looking for links between the three percent diagnosed with ADHD and the health problems of their older relatives.

While scientists couldn’t confirm a direct link, they suggest an undiscovered gene pattern may be at play.

The crunch moment for a quick snack

Brits are most likely to snack in the mid-afternoon — or 12 minutes to four, to be exact.

The finding comes from a survey of 2,000 people, which also found that Britons were divided on the best snack type.

For 43 percent, a savory treat was the go-to snack; 42 percent were looking for a sweet option.

The survey, conducted by snack maker Peperami, also found that four in ten respondents always ate the same snack.

Sales of treatments for erectile dysfunction have soared since the start of the pandemic, according to men’s health product provider Manual.

Sales of products that improve sexual performance are up nearly 300 percent since March last year, it claims.

Earim Chaudry, Medical Director of Manual, suggests that Covid-related stress and anxiety have affected sexual activity, prompting men to seek pharmaceutical help.

One third of British men will experience erectile dysfunction at some point, with stress being the most common cause.

Portsmouth and Bristol were the cities with the largest increase in drug sales, Manual’s study found.

Long commute? Then you have a higher chance of getting Covid-19, according to a study.

Researchers in the United States found that neighborhoods with large numbers of residents who travel up to an hour on public transportation to get to work were more likely to have outbreaks.

Neighborhoods with large households were also more likely to be the focus of spikes in infections.

On the other hand, densely populated areas such as New York City were not found to be linked to elevated levels of Covid.
