Giorgio Chiellini has directed a thinly veiled dig at Cristiano Ronaldo by claiming that the team at Juventus revolved around him and that his presence held back Paulo Dybala.
The Portuguese superstar left Turin for Manchester this summer after just two years in Italy, returning to United in an emotional transfer on the final day.
Ronaldo marked his homecoming at Old Trafford with two goals as United passed Newcastle and beat them 3-1 this weekend.

However, Juventus are struggling to cope with the loss of Ronaldo, taking just one point from the first three games of the Serie A season after a 2-1 loss to Napoli.
Despite their poor start, Chiellini insisted Juventus can manage without the 36-year-old and believes his departure will have positive effects on the team.
The experienced defender told DAZN as quoted by Football Italia: “When you have a world-class player like Cristiano, you can’t help but use the team to play for him.
“We should be grateful to Cristiano for everything he did during these years at Juventus, but we will continue.

Ronaldo showed what an important player he still is by scoring twice against Newcastle
“This will be Paulo Dybala’s team. In recent years he has lowered his average goals with Cristiano’s presence, but he is a key player for this team and everyone recognizes that.”
Max Allegri was out of Dybala ahead of Saturday’s defeat to Napoli, as the attacker played for Argentina in their World Cup qualifier just days before the game.
There is a real fear at Juventus that even Allegri will not be able to turn them into title contenders this season, after their bleak start led to a draw with Udinese and losses to Napoli and Empoli.
Ronaldo had been their top goalscorer in both his seasons in Turin and this weekend showed again how well he scored by scoring twice on his second Untied debut.
Juve star Chiellini believes Dybala was suppressed by Ronaldo’s presence and scored fewer goals
The Portuguese star, who recently became the men’s all-time top goalscorer on the international stage, believes United can win silverware this season after maintaining their unbeaten start and finishing at the top of the Premier League.
“As I’ve told you before, we have huge potential,” he said after their win over Newcastle.
“We have fantastic players, a good coach, a good team. We have to build the mentality to win the Premier League and even the Champions League.
“So I’m here to help the team. I think we have the eleven who are playing and the ones on the bench who can help too. We have a good team, as I told you, and the spirit is there.’
