Fisherman catches 1 in 2 million BLUE lobsters off the coast of Scotland and is now considering throwing it back










A Scottish fisherman caught a rare blue lobster that has a one in two million chance of being caught.

Ricky Greenhowe, 47, caught the 3-pound lobster while fishing off the coast of Aberdeen.

Mr. Greenhowe had never seen a blue lobster in three decades of fishing.

But he considered putting the lobster back in the sea if the local aquarium didn’t want the rare catch.

The blue lobsters are believed to get their color from a high protein content.

Mr Greenhowe said: BBC Scotland: ‘I’ve never seen one and I’ve been fishing since I was 14.’

“I’ll call Macduff Aquarium to see if they want it, if not I’ll put it back.”
