Deontay Wilder Says Tyson Fury Must ‘BURNING IN HELL’ As He Accuses His Heavyweight Rival Of ‘Nauseating’ Lie About Covid-19 Postponing Their Trilogy Fight
- Deontay Wilder has reiterated he believes Tyson Fury lied about having Covid-19
- Their trilogy showdown was postponed to October after Fury’s positive test
- Wilder said Fury’s ‘lie’ is making him sick and he’s going to have to ‘burn in hell’ for it
Deontay Wilder has claimed that Tyson Fury should “burn in hell” as he doubled down on his accusations that the Gypsy King lied about having Covid-19 to get their trilogy fight postponed.
The heavyweight rivals were set to meet on July 24, but Fury and several members of his training camp tested positive for Covid-19, delaying the fight.
Fury and Wilder will now renew their rivalry in Las Vegas on October 9 with the Briton’s WBC World Heavyweight title at stake.
Deontay Wilder has again accused Tyson Fury of lying about Covid postponing their fight
Wilder, who has also accused Fury of cheating to beat him in their rematch more than 18 months ago, has reiterated his belief that his foe fabricated he had Covid in efforts to avoid facing him.
The heavyweight American is adamant that Fury will explore every avenue to evade their scheduled fight and this week demanded that he be given the WBC world belt and his full salary if the Manchester heavyweight pulls out.
An enraged Wilder told 78SPORT TV: “I’m just tired of the lies. That’s all it is, lies.
‘That’s what I believe. And many other people do too – the whole world believes it’s nothing but lies.

“And it really makes me sick to hear that because so many people have died from COVID.
“People I know have had relatives who have died from it. Hearing others use this as an excuse to get out of something is just a horrible man.’
He continued: ‘May they burn in hell for that. Especially for something like that. Because the guy said he had COVID, you see him in so many different places the next moment. It’s just ridiculous.
“He’s been trying to run away from me since last July. He paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to try to avoid me.
“They came up with so many excuses to try and avoid me. They contradict themselves so much and it’s just ridiculous at this point.
“You have to stop or shut up.”
Fury had to pull out of their original July 24 date after he and some of his camp tested positive
Wilder first claimed in July that Fury made up he had Covid to avoid fighting him
Fury was initially in talks with Anthony Joshua before their uncontested showdown collapsed when Wilder won his arbitration case to secure a third fight with the Briton.
There is hope that the fight can be revived if Fury and Joshua can both successfully make it through their world title defenses against Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk.
WBC World Champion Fury has promised to do his part by sending a violent warning to Wilder ahead of their blockbuster third fight.
“What’s going to happen is I’m going to run across the ring and fuck Deontay Wilder out. I’m going to plaster him,” he said last week.
‘I’m going to be like a plasterer in the night, plastering walls.
“I’m going to splash him in the ring. He will be knocked out for sure, 100 percent. The second time it was an easy fight, and the third time it will be an even easier time. I’ll knock him out in no time.’
The Brit has vowed to take out Wilder faster than he did in their rematch last February
