Barcelona suffers injuries with Martin Braithwaite missing up to four months of action after knee surgery, leaving Ronald Koeman with only two fit seniors in Luuk de Jong and Memphis Depay

- Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati and Sergio Agüero are all injured too
- Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong are currently Ronald Koeman’s only options
Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite has been sidelined for an extended period after the club announced on Monday that he will undergo knee surgery.
The Denmark striker has started in all three of Barca’s LaLiga games this season, scoring twice in Real Sociedad’s 4-2 defeat in their opening game, but suffered a knee injury in the 2-1 win over Getafe on August 29.
He subsequently missed the Danish World Cup qualifiers and remained in Barcelona, but the club said in a statement that he opted for surgery after the injury failed to respond to conservative treatment.

Due to the absence of Braithwaite, Ronald Koeman has no options in forward areas
The 30-year-old will miss the next three to four months, according to Spanish media reports, with Barca adding that they will release a new medical report after his surgery.
Braithwaite’s injury adds to Barca’s attacking deficit, with new signing Sergio Aguero still waiting for his debut after injuring a calf tendon last month.
The Argentine will not return until mid-October, while teenage striker Ansu Fati is still waiting for his comeback after undergoing knee surgery last season.
The club hired Dutch striker Luuk de Jong on loan from Sevilla on the last day of the transfer window, while Antoine Griezmann was loaned to Atlético Madrid.
Barca kick off their Champions League campaign at home on Tuesday against Bayern Munich, who defeated them 8-2 in the quarter-finals in August 2020.
