Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed that the club will schedule a meeting with Ousmane Dembélé’s representatives to discuss a new deal for the Frenchman.
The 24-year-old has entered the final year of his contract with the Catalan giants and, having not yet committed to new terms, could sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January.
The France international – who is reported to earn £210,000 a week at Barcelona – was recently given the club’s number 7 shirt after compatriot and close friend Antoine Griezmann was re-leased to Atlético Madrid.

But Laporta has now insisted the club go one step further to convince him to stay, while football director Mateu Alemany is in the process of finalizing a meeting with his agents over new terms and continuing their ‘very good relationship’. to make.

Dembele is yet to play for Barcelona this season as he continues his recovery from a knee injury sustained while playing for France against Hungary at Euro 2020 in the summer.
However, the same Spanish outlet claims that the former Borussia Dortmund star – who joined the Catalan giants on a £124m deal four years ago – is still expected to be with the matter for another two months.
He scored six goals and provided three assists in 30 LaLiga appearances under Ronald Koeman last season, as he began to show signs of a player who has struggled to impose himself at the Camp Nou since 2017.
